About Me
Hi, my name is Danny Nsouli. I'm a writer-director based in Los Angeles, California.
At the core of my work is a strong connection to childhood wonder and a belief in the power of storytelling to inspire both young audiences and the young at heart. I aim to create films that are not only escapist entertainment but also serve as a bridge between generations—captivating children while reminding adults of the imaginative spirit they once embraced. As we grow older, it’s easy to lose sight of the way we once saw the world, and I want my stories to reignite that sense of possibility. Rather than focusing on personal struggles in the present, I tell stories that equip younger audiences with the tools to navigate the challenges of growing up, while offering adults a nostalgic reminder of the lessons that shaped them. My goal is to create narratives that resonate with the underdog in all of us.
While I gravitate toward whimsical and adventurous stories, I believe emotional depth is crucial to making them lasting and impactful—much like the best of Pixar. Animation, specifically, speaks to me because it not only evokes the magic of childhood but also provides boundless creative possibilities. In recent years, mainstream animation has embraced more distinctive visual styles, moving away from a standardized look. This shift excites me as a filmmaker, and I strive to develop my own signature style by continuing to experiment. Ultimately, I want to create work that is visually distinct, emotionally resonant, and capable of leaving a lasting impression on audiences of all ages.
